Ashes [
November 23rd 2006 @ 7:05pm

halonoir1
This community seems to have been out of action for a while, but what better way to kick-start it again with the Ashes 2006-7!
A rather bad start for England, but you never can tell what's going to happen just from the first day - look at the Lords test in 2005! So opinions? Predictions? Your two cents?
And in the spirit of keeping the comm alive I am accepting fic requests (see my Hussey one for example of my writing ;) )

Howdy all!

Just interested to know where people stand on the Jones v Read debate. If you dont give a crap about either as long as England have a wicket keeper then you probably shouldnt cast a vote :P So yeah.. Just wondering where people stand so please comment back :)

Cheers xox

News for all us little englanders (or little Britain-ers)

Channel 5 are showing the second part of 'Hidden Ashes' - which gives exclusive showing to never before seen footage of the Ashes at 19:15 on Monday 8th May.

We'd have told you sooner if the modly beings had known with more than an hour to spare. Anyway - watch it it's great - the pup chewing gum moment really exists and Shane Warne has mints in his socks!

Trent Bridge and the Oval in next week's programme.

Hey there - me again! Was thinking...(not usually a good sign)...as I'm sure you die hard cricket fans are aware, the 2005 Wisden comes out two days from now. To spice things up around here thought maybe we could have a competition, if that's all right with the Mods (if not let me know and I'll take it down). Here we go:
Lets try and see who can guess, most correctly, who the 5 cricketers of the year will be but bear in mind:
A cricketer can only be cricketer of the year once
Everything since last april can be considered apart from World vs Australia and any tours after march type time (any queries just ask!)

Every one who enters must offer something to the prize pot (as it were) ie. I'll write the winner a piece of fanfic about whichever cricketer/scenario they want. You can offer writing, icons, banners or anything you can think of!
Finally my entry:

1. Brett Lee
2. Kevin Pietersen
3. Geraint Jones
4. Simon Jones
5. Makatyha Ntini (I think his bowling streak recently comes within the time frame but will check that)

Offering: A piece of fanfiction to be requested by winner

Any questions please ask! Please try this for fun!

Hey, I wrote something...

Title: Declare

Author: Katie

Disclaimer: My own dramatic recreation

Characters: Ricky Ponting and Justin Langer

AN: Got the idea from this article. I found the idea of Langer saying they wouldn't be freinds if Ponting declared very interesting.

Okay, I'm sure that everyone has heard about the Flintoff Vaughan commercial but does anyone know where it's possible to watch it???? If you've got the Times today, Hoggy goes into quite some detail about it ( ;) ) - such as what they do lol. He also mentions that it's for Kingfisher Water but as far as I can see they don't have a website :(
